Baseball Windscreen: Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most durable material for a baseball field?
For most high-use athletic facilities, we recommend Permascreen 80. It provides the perfect balance of wind pass-through and long-term durability. If your facility faces heavy athletic wear, we suggest Permascreen Plus, a rugged 11 oz. option. For fields requiring maximum privacy or a complete "batter’s eye" block, Polypro 95 offers 95% opacity.
Can you print our team logo or outfield distance markers?
Absolutely! We offer three professional print levels to fit any athletic budget:
-
Direct Printing: The standard for bold, durable team logos and outfield branding.
-
Full-Color Digital Printing: For vibrant, "stadium-grade" graphics and complex designs.
-
Budget Stitch-On: An affordable way to add basic identifiers or sponsor information. All of our printing comes with a 5-Year ‘No Fade’ Warranty and we provide digital proofs before every job to ensure accuracy.
What color options are available for our school/team branding?
We offer a wide palette of colors to match your team’s identity. Standard athletic tones include Forest Green, Royal Blue, Navy, and Black. We also carry vibrant options such as Red, Burgundy, Yellow, and Purple to make your facility pop.
How do I ensure a professional, wrinkle-free installation?
A great fit starts with the 10-Foot Section Method.
-
Don't fight the wind: Never install on a windy day, as the screen becomes a sail.
-
Orient correctly: Always install with the smooth, finished side facing the field and keep the air vents at the top.
-
The Hardware Rule: Use a zip tie in every single grommet to prevent wind-load tear-out.
-
Protect the bottom: Leave a 6" to 12" gap at the bottom to allow for airflow and prevent damage from weed eaters and mowers.
What hardware should I use to protect my fence?
We recommend using 50 lb. UV-resistant zip ties. In extreme weather events, you want the ties to be the "failure point"—allowing the screen to break away safely rather than having your fence rails bend or collapse under the wind load.
What is the turnaround time for a custom order?
Because we are a direct manufacturer, we offer fast turnaround on custom orders. While timelines vary by project size, buying direct means your project hits the production line immediately—helping you beat the "Spring Rush" backlog.
